Good with dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Yes
Don't let the fact that Dublin only has three legs stop you from adopting him...it definitely doesn’t stop him at all. This handsome devil takes just a little time to get to know you but once he does he LOVES his humans and will make your day with how excited he gets to see you.
Dublin is super smart and knows sit, lay, wait/stay, and sits patiently for his food. Dublin gets little spurts of excitement but overall is a very chill dog and does not have high energy. Dublin rides well in the car and likes to go out for errands.
Dublin is potty trained but struggles a little bit with “excitement piddling” when he is first let out of his crate. His foster mom has learned that he just needs to go straight from crate to outside. Dublin also has a nervous tendency to shred his blankets in his crate. We are hopeful that with continuing routine and consistency Dublin will calm down and not have these minor issues anymore.
Dublin loves to sit on the couch with you, lie in bed or just goes and lies on his blanket on the floor by himself. He is still learning to play with his foster sister who is a little higher energy but does very well with her and loves her. Cats dont seem to phase Dublin either - he is rather indifferent to many things IE: bunnies, squirrels, dogs, cats etc. Dublin likes to walk but our little tripod doesn’t have a ton of stamina quite yet.
Dublin was cat tested at the shelter and did fine with feline friends there. His foster mom’s favorite thing about Dublin is how laid back he is. Dublin would do great in virtually any home, but a calmer home (maybe with a nice female for him to snuggle with) would be ideal for him. He will also need a home with out stairs to help avoid any continued stress to his legs as he ages. SEPR is currently giving him glucosamine to help with his joints and bones!
